BS-31 ‘What are some signs of Jesus Return’

BS – 31 ‘What are some of the signs of your return, Jesus..??’

Lesson Point – We can study the signs BUT not the When.

Questions for you, at the bottom.

That question was asked about 2000 years ago, wasn’t it..??    Matthew 24:3 – Mark 13:4 – Luke 21:7

Then Jesus responded to the Disciples, who had asked him the question. In Matthew, Chapter 24: verses 4 through 28 HE gives a snapshot. Then in verse 8 HE points out that this is just the beginning of the birth pangs [What is a birth pang? Were the Hawaiian volcanos a birth pang? Is the extreme heat or the fires burning in the Amazon a birth pang? Do plagues constitute a birth pang?]… Then in verse 9 Jesus tells them that some will die, the Faithfull, also some followers in verse 10, will turn away from Christianity and betray or hate true followers of Jesus [Most likely these are followers in name only, not filled with the Holy Spirit]. Verse 14 points out that the Gospel will be or will have been taught to the whole world. So Christ will have been proclaimed to all nations prior to his return [the world wide web & satellites fulfills this] Verse 27 lets us know that when Jesus does come we will know it; don’t listen to false reports from the media.  Kinda like CNN’s Fake News on some subjects…

The fig tree parable in verses 32-35 gives us hope. Our hope is in Christ Jesus and the generation of those who hope in HIS soon return. Just like the Days of Noah is illustrated in verses 36-41. Be prepared is the message; we do not know the day or hour so as the branches are attached to the vine, only those who are true followers of the Lord, verses 42-51, will be heaven bound. The other place has been prepared for the ones who have never put their full TRUST in Christ as Savior and Lord. [It is a wide road that many will travel]

Luke 21: verse 24 is interesting. Jerusalem is mentioned as being trampled by the Gentiles. In 1948 Israel became a country again and then in 1967 Jerusalem came under the authority of Israel. Did the dry bones mentioned in Ezekiel, chapter 37 come back to life..? If Gog is Russia, Chapter 38, they already have troops stationed north of Israel in Syria. Are they making future plans to escalate a war in Israel? In addition, the western part of Russia is just north of Turkey and Syria. Very close..!!

Now that Israel is a Nation again we can look to Zachariah. In chapter 12 Jerusalem will be a burden to the world and the Nations will gather to war against it. In Zachariah, chapter 14, the Lord will fight the Nations in battle who go against Jerusalem. What do you think about America moving their UN staff to Jerusalem? Could this be in God’s ultimate plan? Is it a sign?

In the book of Joel, verse 2:11, it reads, “Who can endure the day of the Lord?” Verse 2:30-31 repeats the warning.

Scripture in Daniel, chapter 12, talks about the ‘end of time’ when both knowledge and travel increases. Both are significant in today’s world. The ‘book’ is mentioned once again in verse 1. It has the names of those people who have been rescued by the atonement blood of Christ. Choosing Christ is a choice to every mortal and only those who do so, have their names in this ‘book’Rev. 20:12 has books – judgement books; not the book of eternal life w/Jesus!

Peter writes in 2 Peter, chapter 3, verses 3-13 that the Lord will arrive like a thief in the night; the heavens will disappear with intense heat; we the redeemed are to conduct ourselves with godliness looking for that day to appear. We are to be diligent in the things of the Lord.

Though there are many other things in scripture; the Apostle John tells us that antichrist will appear in the Last Days. We might refer to it as the last hour to modern time. 1 John 2:18-25..

The coming of Christ, Revelation 19, verses 11-16 is a picture of Christ, God the Son, King of Kings…

Scripture –

Matthew 24:3, As He [Christ Jesus] was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”

Signs of Christ’s Return

24 Jesus came out from the temple and was going away when His disciples came up to point out the temple buildings to Him. And He said to them, “Do you not see all these things? Truly I say to you, not one stone here will be left upon another, which will not be torn down.” [In AD-70 the Romans destroyed Jerusalem] As He was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” And Jesus answered and said to them, “See to it that no one misleads you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many. You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. [Ongoing until the end] See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the endFor nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes. [Somewhere on earth it happens all the time] But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs. “Then they will deliver you to tribulation [one will be taken], and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name. 10 At that time many will fall away and will betray one another and hate one another. 11 Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many. 12 Because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will grow cold. 13 But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved14 This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come. [Missions and satellite has taken care of the WORD spread]

[Note – When one is taken and beheaded, will those who have verbally been followers fall away & betray others?]

Perilous Times

15 “Therefore when you see the abomination of desolation [antichrist] which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand-it is in Jerusalem)16 then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains. 17 Whoever is on the housetop must not go down to get the things out that are in his house. 18 Whoever is in the field must not turn back to get his cloak. 19 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! 20 But pray that your flight will not be in the winter, or on a Sabbath. 21 For then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will. [Great Tribulation usually refers to the 2nd 3 ½ years of the 7 years] 22 Unless those days had been cut short, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short. [The ELECT are those who put their TRUST in Jesus] 23 Then if anyone says to you, ‘Behold, here is the Christ,’ or There He is,’ do not believe him[Jesus is talking to the ones who should know these scriptures] 24 For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead [the FAKE secular News-David Koresh from Waco-Jim Jones], if possible, even the elect. 25 Behold, I have told you in advance. 26 So if they say to you, ‘Behold, He is in the wilderness,’ do not go out, or, ‘Behold, He is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe them27 For just as the lightning comes from the east and flashes even to the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be. 28 Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather.

The Glorious Return of Christ

29 “But immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.30 And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory. 31 And He will send forth His angels with a great trumpet and they will gather together His elect [the Christian Church] from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.

Parable of the Fig Tree

32 “Now learn the parable from the fig tree: when its branch has already become tender and puts forth its leaves, [you know when spring is near] you know that summer is near; 33 so, you too, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the door34 Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away. 36 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone37 For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah. 38 For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, [everyday, normal life is taking place] until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39 and they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be. [ALWAYS be prepared but don’t listen to words other than these of Jesus] 40 Then there will be two men in the field; one will be taken and one will be left. 41 Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken and one will be left.

Be Ready for His Coming

42 “Therefore be on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming43 But be sure of this, that if the head of the house had known at what time of the night the thief was coming, he would have been on the alert and would not have allowed his house to be broken into.44 For this reason you also must be ready; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not think He will. [HE won’t come when people think; HE comes when most are not expecting HIM] 45 “Who then is the faithful and sensible slave whom his master put in charge of his household to give them their food at the proper time? 46 Blessed is that slave whom his master finds so doing when he comes. [Christians are you serving Christ OR are you living as the secular world?] 47 Truly I say to you that he will put him in charge of all his possessions. 48 But if that evil slave says in his heart, ‘My master is not coming for a long time,’ 49 and begins to beat his fellow slaves and eat and drink with drunkards; 50 the master of that slave will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour which he does not know51 and will cut him in pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. [People, do you walk the wide OR the narrow road? Only one leads to Paradise with the Lord]

Luke 21:24, 24 and they will fall by the edge of the sword, and will be led captive into all the nations; and Jerusalem will be trampled underfoot by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. [Was that from AD70 to 1948 or 1967]?

Ezekiel 37, Again He said to me, “Prophesy over these bones and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.’ Thus says the Lord God to these bones, ‘Behold, I will cause breath to enter you that you may come to life. [Again, 1948 or maybe 1967?]

Ezekiel 38, 14 “Therefore prophesy, son of man, and say to Gog, ‘Thus says the Lord God, “On that day when My people Israel are living securely, will you not know it15 You will come from your place out of the remote parts of the north, you and many peoples with you, all of them riding on horses, a great assembly and a mighty army; 16 and you will come up against My people Israel like a cloud to cover the land. It shall come about in the last days that I will bring you against My land, so that the nations may know Me when I am sanctified through you before their eyes, O Gog.”

Zachariah 12, “Behold, I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that causes reeling to all the peoples around; and when the siege is against Jerusalem, it will also be against Judah. It will come about in that day that I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who lift it will be severely injured. And all the nations of the earth will be gathered against it.

Zachariah 14,  Behold, a day is coming for the Lord when the spoil taken from you will be divided among you. For I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and the city will be captured, the houses plundered, the women ravished and half of the city exiled, but the rest of the people will not be cut off from the city. Then the Lord will go forth and fight against those nations, as when He fights on a day of battle. In that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which is in front of Jerusalem on the east; and the Mount of Olives will be split in its middle from east to west by a very large valley, so that half of the mountain will move toward the north and the other half toward the south. You will flee by the valley of My Mountains, for the valley of the mountains will reach to Azel; yes, you will flee just as you fled before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the Lord, my God, will comeand all the holy ones with Him!

In that day there will be no light; the luminaries will dwindle. For it will be a unique day which is known to the Lord, neither day nor night, but it will come about that at evening time there will be light. And in that day living waters will flow out of Jerusalem, half of them toward the eastern sea and the other half toward the western sea; it will be in summer as well as in winter.

God Will Be King over All

And the Lord will be king over all the earth; in that day the Lord will be the only one, and His name the only one. 10 All the land will be changed into a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem; but Jerusalem will rise and remain on its site from Benjamin’s Gate as far as the place of the First Gate to the Corner Gate, and from the Tower of Hananel to the king’s wine presses. 11 People will live in it, and there will no longer be a curse, for Jerusalem will dwell in security.

12 Now this will be the plague with which the Lord will strike all the peoples who have gone to war against Jerusalem; their flesh will rot while they stand on their feet, and their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongue will rot in their mouth. [Sounds like nuclear] 13 It will come about in that day that a great panic from the Lord will fall on them; and they will seize one another’s hand, and the hand of one will be lifted against the hand of another. 14 Judah also will fight at Jerusalem; and the wealth of all the surrounding nations will be gathered, gold and silver and garments in great abundance. 15 So also like this plague will be the plague on the horse, the mule, the camel, the donkey and all the cattle that will be in those camps.

Daniel 12, The Time of the End   “Now at that time [the archangel] Michael, the great prince who stands guard over the sons of your people, will arise. And there will be a time of distress [Tribulation?] such as never occurred since there was a nation until that time; and at that time your people, everyone who is found written in the book, will be rescued. Many of those who sleep in the dust of the ground will awake, these to everlasting life, but the others to disgrace and everlasting contempt. Those who have insight will shine brightly like the brightness of the expanse of heaven, and those who lead the many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever. But as for you, Daniel, conceal these words and seal up the book until the end of time; many will go back and forth, and knowledge will increase.”

[Note-When G. Washington was President, travel and knowledge was about the same as when Jesus lived.]

Then I, Daniel, looked and behold, two others were standing, one on this bank of the river and the other on that bank of the river. And one said to the man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, “How long will it be until the end of these wonders?” I heard the man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, as he raised his right hand and his left toward heaven, and swore by Him who lives forever that it would be for a time, times, and half a time [3 ½ years]; and as soon as they finish shattering the power of the holy people, all these events will be completed. As for me, I heard but could not understand; so I said, “My lord, what will be the outcome of these events?” He said, “Go your way, Daniel, for these words are concealed and sealed up until the end time10 Many will be purged, purified and refined, but the wicked will act wickedly; and none of the wicked will understand, but those who have insight will understand. 11 From the time that the regular sacrifice is abolished and the abomination of desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days. 12 How blessed is he who keeps waiting and attains to the 1,335 days! 13 But as for you, go your way to the end; then you will enter into rest and rise again for your allotted portion at the end of the age.”

2 Peter 3:3-13, The Coming Day of the Lord

Know this first of all, that in the last day’s mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation.” For when they maintain this, it escapes their notice that by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and by water, through which the world at that time was destroyed, being flooded with water. But by His word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire, kept for the Day of Judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one dayThe Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.

A New Heaven and Earth

10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up. [The day of the Lord is the days Jesus returns]

11 Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what sort of people ought you to be [steadfast in the things of the Lord] in holy conduct and godliness, 12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be destroyed by burning, and the elements will melt with intense heat! 13 But according to His promise we are looking for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells.

1 John 2:18-24, 18 Children, it is the last hour; and just as you heard that antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have appeared; from this we know that it is the last hour. 19 They went out from us, but they were not really of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, so that it would be shown that they all are not of us.20 But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all know. 21 I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it, and because no lie is of the truth. 22 Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son. 23 Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father; the one who confesses the Son has the Father also.24 As for you, let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father.

Revelation 19:11-16, The Coming of Christ

11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war. 12 His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems; and He has a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself. 13 He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God [John 1:1]14 And the armies [angels & saints] which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were following Him on white horses.15 From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty. 16 And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”

Revelation 15, 16, 17, 18, are the judgements that mankind will face; who are living at the time. Is the world ready for these Bowls of judgement? Those who deny Christ Jesus and follow antichrist are in for a time of plagues like the world has never seen before. It is partial JUDGEMENT but not the final judgement when the host who have rejected the Lord Jesus will be cast into HELL.

Asking the same question; what are some of the signs, Jesus, of your second coming?

  • Jerusalem must be a problem area to much of the world; is it?

  • Maybe the 3rd Temple rebuilt in Jerusalem? But maybe not?
    • In 2 Thessalonians 2:3-12, Satan will sit in the Temple; defiling it.
  • Maybe Israel repenting; figuring out Christ is their Messiah. [144,000]

    • Will technology allow him to be TWEETING his desires to the nations?

Is Scripture just talking to Israel OR to ALL who are Christ believers?
